Just a few of the stars who had homes in Palm Springs include Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, Elvis Presley, Bob Hope, Liberace, Cary Grant, Dinah Shore, Suzanne Somers, Dean Martin and Zsa Zsa Gabor. Palm Springs became a popular destination for celebrities due to its proximity to the LA movie studios, less than a two-hour drive. During Hollywood’s golden era, film stars were required to stay within a two-hour radius of the studios, which made Palm Springs a go-to getaway.
