Florida Votes To Slash Property Taxes

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis spent more than a year pushing for major property tax cuts, but getting it done would require a vote of at least 60% approval. And the proposal faced strong opposition from a variety of groups, including local government representatives, firefighters, police, emergency medical technicians, religious groups, and many prominent Republicans. On November 3rd, 62% of Florida voters approved Amendment 3, which will reduce property taxes by approximately $1,000 to $2,500 per year.
