Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte has been busy accusing many Democrats of mortgage fraud. His targets have included New York Attorney General Letitia James, Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook and Representative Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.). Democrats think that Pulte’s methods for sending criminal referrals to the U.S. Department of Justice were “bizarre,” “unusual,” and “unheard of.” Pulte is now being investigated by the Government Accountability Office for misusing his authority in making the referrals.
